Riverbend Gardens & Nursery is also the home of Allan & Shirley Koch, two horticulture fanatics who have spent the last five decades on one of the prettiest properties in Howick Township. After raising four children they decided retirement wasn't their cup of tea and decided to pursue their lifelong passion for plants. In 2003 they opened their doors to their first customers, and through thick and thin, drought and flood, and a swarm of grandchildren they've created one of the most unique and outstanding nurseries in the province, specializing in hosta, daylily, lilies, peonies, and heritage perennials, most of which are on display in mature flowerbeds. Their award-winning gardens have been a wedding destination, a "mother stock" nursery, and the source of much joy for family, friends, and customers.
MAIL ORDER ALERT! Shipping plants is popular, but there are extra costs involved in bare-rooting, washing, and packing. To offset those costs we have a minimum order of $50.00 (pretax), and charge an incremental $1.00 per plant, plus appropriate taxes, and the actual shipping charge to get the plants from our gardens to your door.
HORT SOCIETY DISCOUNT! We offer a 10% pre-tax discount to card-carrying members (must have your card for confirmation) of garden clubs, horticultural societies, and hosta societies, limited to in person shopping only (no telephone sales). You must show your membership card onsite prior to payment.
